{"id":900,"date":"2011-03-23T00:03:50","date_gmt":"2011-03-23T08:03:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/technofovea.com\/blog\/?p=900"},"modified":"2016-03-31T23:34:20","modified_gmt":"2016-04-01T06:34:20","slug":"open-sourcing-packbsp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/technofovea.com\/blog\/archives\/900","title":{"rendered":"Open-sourcing PackBSP, 2.0.5 release"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the last week or two I&#8217;ve been cleaning up <a href=\"http:\/\/technofovea.com\/blog\/projects\/packbsp\">PackBSP<\/a>&#8216;s documentation and build process to get it ready for open-source hosting on GitHub. With everything important out in the open (including the <a href=\"http:\/\/technofovea.com\/blog\/projects\/jhllib\">jhllib<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/technofovea.com\/blog\/projects\/hl2parse\">hl2parse<\/a> libraries) I hope to avoid the type of abandonment that befell Pakrat. With luck, I&#8217;ll finally cut the ribbon sometime this week and simultaneously release version 2.0.5.<\/p>\n<p>Version 2.0.5 is primarily bug-fixes, particularly to solve an issue where PackBSP won&#8217;t start up correctly on certain Windows installations.<\/p>\n<p>If anybody already has a GitHub account, feel free to add or vote on the <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/DHager\/packbsp\/issues\">Issues Page<\/a> in terms of what needs to be done next, but I&#8217;m currently thinking of support for parsing PCF files (custom particles) to determine what sprites or materials they depend-upon. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the last week or two I&#8217;ve been cleaning up PackBSP&#8216;s documentation and build process to get it ready for open-source hosting on GitHub.
