Hl2Parse is a library of Java code designed to inter-operate with various Sourceâ„¢ game engine file formats. It is currently hosted on GitHub.

Currently (Feb 2011) the following formats are handled and have APIs with varying levels of functionality:

  • VMT files
  • Particle manifest format
  • Soundscapes
  • Source SDK’s gameinfo.txt
  • BSP files
  • FGD (“forge game data”) files
  • Map entity data
  • MDL model files
  • Steam’s clientregistry.blob
